The Heart Behind Kylee’s Kare Kits for Kidz

When people hear about Kylee’s Kare Kits for Kidz, they often ask me what inspired me to start it. The truth is, it came from a place of curiosity and compassion.

An Eye-Opening Moment

At just ten years old, I noticed something at my school that didn’t seem right: many kids were eating breakfast at school every day. When I asked my grandmother about it, I learned that some families struggle to afford enough food.

That answer broke my heart. I couldn’t imagine what it would feel like to be hungry, especially as a child. I knew I had to do something to help.

Starting Small, Dreaming Big

With my grandmother’s help, I created a plan to provide food for kids in need over the weekends. We started small, aiming to help just 10 children.

The first kits we packed were simple but filled with love—cereal, soup, snacks, and fruit cups. Each Friday, we delivered the kits to children in the Leominster public school system.

A Growing Movement

Over time, word spread about what we were doing. People in our community stepped up to help, donating food, money, and time. Their support allowed us to grow beyond anything I could have imagined.

Today, we provide food to 204 children every weekend. It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come, and it’s all thanks to the kindness of those around us.

Why It Matters

Hunger is about more than just food. It’s about giving kids the chance to focus in school, play with their friends, and grow up healthy and strong. By providing kare kits, we’re not just filling bellies—we’re giving kids the foundation they need to succeed.
